Greetings and welcome to the Imperial Nexus, the home of the Mirror Universe ships in Starfleet International. Please take a few minutes to come on in and check out what our corner of the multiverse has to offer. As you enter you can follow the origins of what has become known the Mirror Universe, but we just call it home. The history is set-up in a timeline format touching on the highpoints of things. Youll notice that history is the same until a simple divergence point, that is clearly listed, thats when our universe took a distinctly darker route.
The time frame we operate in is in the post Dominion War era, in which the remnants of the Empire used massive Inclusion Devices to transport their fleets and people into what is called the regular universe, where the Federation exists. We traded our military support to the Federation in exchange for territory to re-establish ourselves. This was agreed to and so was born the Nuova Imperium or New Empire. An Imperial Senate was established which held representatives of all the races and systems that were together there. A ProConsul was elected and a New Order was established. The Empire was run by a Senate, but it was still militarily driven and the military had a voice, a strong one.
We control a large swath of space as a buffer between the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire, we also conquered most of the Orion Confederation creating the Imperial Free States, which are allegedly a group of renegades, but in fact are just a front for the Imperial War Machine to gain much needed materials, slaves, technology and ships that they cannot acquire through normal trade and efforts. The overriding goal of the Imperial Military is the eventual invasion of and re-conquest of the old universe, to this end the military operates above the law of the Imperium and has just completed a coup against the political flunky that was ProConsul and installed their Commander in Chief the dreaded First Admiral, Maximus Von Schreck the Scourge of Cardassia as the new head of state, wrapped in the robes of liberator and savior.
